How to Set Your Pixel Protocol in Amphet
Ensuring your software speaks the right "language" to your LEDs is the first step to a successful light show.
If you are working with Advatek (Amplettech) devices, different LED chips use different communication protocols. Getting them to sync requires a quick adjustment in the Amphet software. Here is a simple, step-by-step guide to configuring your pixel protocol.
Step 1: Open the Amphet Software
Locate the Amphet icon on your desktop or in your applications folder. Double-click to launch the program.
Step 2: Access Administrator Settings
Once the interface is open, look for the Administrator tab or section. This area allows you to change the core configuration of your hardware outputs.
Step 3: Navigate to Pixel Output
Within the Administrator menu, find the option labeled Pixel Output. This is where the magic happens for your physical LED strips or nodes.
Step 4: Select Your Protocol
In the Pixel Output section, you will see a field for Pixel Type.
Click the dropdown menu.
Scroll through the list to find the protocol that matches your specific LEDs (e.g.,
WS2812B, APA102, etc.).
If you aren't sure which protocol your lights use, check the Advatek website for a comprehensive reference guide.
Step 5: Save Your Changes
After selecting the correct protocol, don't just close the window! You must commit the changes:
Click Apply to test the settings.
Click Apply and Save to ensure the settings persist the next time you power on your device.
Advatek devices support one of the widest ranges of pixel protocols in the industry. If you have a unique or newer chip type, always ensure your Amphet software is updated to the latest version to see all available options.
