The Design
In October last year, we completed a lighting installation for Acklam Car Centre, delivering a tailored pixel lighting solution. Our team installed advanced LED tape and a decentralised control system running a combination of sACN and DMX. This setup ensured smooth, responsive illumination. With remote content management in place, we continue to update and optimise the lighting, keeping it vibrant and effective.
Social media plays a huge role in the car showroom’s marketing and sales strategy. Acklam Car Centre specialises in high-end, luxury, and supercars, attracting customers who expect a premium experience. Their digital presence is essential for showcasing vehicles and engaging potential buyers. The lighting needed to be adaptable to highlight the high-end cars and supercars they sell, including the BMW 530D 3.0, the Porsche Macan 3.0 V6 S and the Lamborghini Urus 4.0 V8 S . It also had to support themed content for events like Christmas and Halloween, creating striking visuals for social media campaigns. The flexibility of the system even allows for personalising the lighting during customer car collections, adding a special touch to the buying experience.
The Build
The pixel lighting was built into pre-fabricated chevron structures. We installed the LED and tested them in our Darwen workshop before they were transported site. This method ensured precise assembly and a streamlined installation. At the showroom, the chevrons were installed alongside wall-mounted LED fixtures and additional lighting within two stretch ceilings.
To achieve a refined finish, we custom-designed and 3D printed specialist components for the ceiling. These bespoke elements provided a solution for a sleeker, more integrated look, concealing fixings and enhancing the overall aesthetic. The System
Our team commissioned all lighting, programming it through MADRIX to create dynamic, engaging visuals. The system includes an interface that accepts commands from Lutron, allowing seamless integration with the house lighting at Acklam. Additionally, we designed and implemented a custom tablet interface, enabling real-time LED control with maximum flexibility.
With a focus on luxury and performance, Acklam Car Centre needed a polished, professional lighting setup that reflected the prestige of the cars they sell. The final installation elevated the showroom, creating an environment that complements their high-end vehicles and enhances their digital marketing. We continue to provide remote support, ensuring optimal performance and long-term success.
