Coldplay’s European Tour
After debuting our wireless LED system in Argentina, we returned for the European leg of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour with a refined, upgraded solution. The tour’s global run was more than a stadium show, it was a low-emission, high-impact experience built on immersive visuals and thoughtful engineering.
In Europe, our new version added flexibility, faster updates, and a lower profile. It helped technical crews deliver precise lighting effects during a fast-moving, multi-city tour, without compromising the visual scale or the band’s sustainability goals.

Refining the System – WiFi Control, Real-Time Flexibility
For this version, we developed a compact LED controller with built-in Wi-Fi. This gave the lighting techs the ability to push real-time updates during rehearsal or mid-tour changes. Outputs were toggled using physical switches, allowing for quick setup with no screen needed.
Everything was enclosed in a custom rugged, extruded belt enclosure. It was tour-safe, low-profile, and mounted securely using updated tactical pouches. The inflatables were identical to the Argentina shows, but the tech inside offered greater speed, control, and consistency, designed specifically for repeat-use across arenas and stadiums.

Second System Features
- Tracer 12V Batteries – Reliable portable power for nightly use
- Custom extruded belt enclosure. With power switch and LED output toggle.
- Custom micro LED controller with Wi-Fi connectivity for programming changes.
- IP66 6-pin connectors – Sealed, weatherproof, and robust
- Updated tactical pouches – For comfort and consistent placement

Why It Mattered – More Than Just a Light Show
The luminous spheres weren’t just stage props, they were part of a wider concept. Coldplay’s imagined solar system was central to the show, and the spheres visually tied into the tour’s climate-conscious ethos.
The European tour saw the band reduce emissions by 59% compared to their previous run. Our wireless LED system supported that effort, replacing heavy infrastructure with minimal, efficient, battery-powered control.
